Li Fang- A Bright and Strong Girl

明るいのリファンさん。


リファンさん、はじめて大学の中で女の子は私をとても驚かせました。
リファンさんは車椅子の上に座って。お母さんはリファンさんのそばにリファンの非常に小さな行動を気にします。
リファンさんはマレーシアのケダ州にすんでいます。彼女は十六歳に事故に会った。
事故の後で彼女は脊髄コード損傷していた。首から足まで、何でも感じません、何でもしません。
いま、彼女はUSM(Universiti Sains Malaysia)で社会科学をとります。

インタビューはリファンの部屋でしました。（リファンさんの省略名はファンさん。）

私 ：こんにちは。

ファンさん：こんにちは。

私：お元気ですか。

ファンさん：元気です。

私：日常生活の中で何困難がありますか？たとえば、勉強？

ファンさん：いいよ。私はわからない時、友達はよく案内します。

私：そうですか。事故の後で、負傷はどうですか？

ファンさん：事故の後で、脊髄コード損傷していた。首から足まで、
何でも感じません、何でもしません。

私：もし私がリファンさんがだったら、非常に難しい事実を受け入れる。
ファンさんはもちろん大変ね。どうこの事実を直面する？

ファンさん：多分３年ぐらいうちでいました。なんでもしませんでした。お母さん　
　　　　　は私の世話は自分でできた、よく私に伴いました。お母さんは私を食
　　　　　べさせて、私をお風呂に入りました。物が行って、物を持ってきまし
　　　　　た。たくさん宗教指導者は私を迎えて、話しました。まず、
　　　　　事故はちょっと大変でした。でも、友達は私に伴いました。安心しま
　　　　　した。

私：そうですか。あなたのお母さんはよくあなたに伴いました。時々けんかし
　　た？

ファンーさん：お母さんと私は時々意見の不一致があることがありました。でもお母
さんは私とけんかしませんでした。お母さんは優しいでした。


リファンさんとお母さん。

私：じゃ、あとでどうでしたか？

ファンーさん：二年に障害センターがいました。私は始めてコンピュータの技
　　　　　能を学べました。そこでボランティアは私に英語を教えてくれました。　
　　　　　その後で、ＳＰＭの試験をかかることを決めました。私は試験の後で、
　　　　　つずく勉強といいんですが。自分で左手を練習して、書くいいんです
　　　　　が。でも、かくまで下手でした。試験の後で、私はコンピュータを使
　　　　　いました。私はがんばって、KTAR（大学）に入りました。

私：あなたの家族と友達は絶対にあなたを自慢しました。大学の生活はあなたの
　　新しい出発点？

ファンーさん：はい、家族は本当にうれしいでした。私も。二年ぐらい大学で勉
　　　　　　強しました。コンピュータがくを勉強したい、でも講師はアドバ　
　　　　　　イスを話しました。講師は私はコンピュータがくを選んで、私は　
　　　　　　ゆっくりだといっていました。話し合い後で、情報システム
　　　　　　工学（Information System Engineering）を勉強しました。私の目
　　　　　　的は大学に入りました。USMは私の選択。

私：おめでとうございました。努力した後で、USMにいました。

ファンーさん：ありがどうございます。両親とみんなさんを本当に感謝していま
　　　　　　す。

私：USMはどうですか？

ファンーさん：USMはすごいです。USMは私のうちで近いですから、この大学を
　　　　　　選びました。ここで皆さんはとても優しいでした。毎日大学の
　　　　　　役員は私の部屋に行った、クラスで私を持っていきました。私は　
　　　　　　動きませんでしたから。毎回大学の役員は私もっていきました、　　　　　　
　　　　　　車椅子も。大学の役員は本当に疲れました。時々、大学の役員は
　　　　　　一日で多分十回に私を持っていきました。クラスにいって、部屋
　　　　　　で帰りましたから。大学を自慢しました、障害者の世話をしまし　
　　　　　　たから。

私：じゃ、誰かあなたに勧める?

ファンーさん：そか学会。そか学会は文化、平和、知恵と勇敢を強調しま
　　　　　　す。そか学会は日本の仏教です。私は困難があった時、“なん
　　　　　　にょほれんきょう”を話します。元気だと気がいいだと思います。
　　　　　　そか学会は私を強くする。

私：よっかた。ファンーさんは何夢がありますか？

ファンーさん：はい、一日は私は立ちたい。外国に行きたいです。外国でハイ
　　　　　　テク機器は私をたつできます。次、友達とそか学会について話します。
　　　　　　友達はうれしいといいんですが。

私：わあ！いいです。あなたは積極的な人ですか？

ファンーさん：私は時間じゃない消極的なのことを考えません。

私：冷静ね。あなたは本当に積極的な人。

ファンーさん：あの先輩は私と話：“たくさん考えません、いましたことに注意
　　　　　　を払います。”いいです。

私：運命を不平を言いましたか？

ファンーさん：この前にあった。でも、今私は感謝しています。そかがっかいに
　　　　　　していましたから。生命の意味があります。友達とそか学会につ
　　　　　　いて話します。そか学会を知った、強くになりました。家族と友
　　　　　　達を感謝しています。たくさん手伝いましたから。

私：最後、なんにが話したいですか？

ファンーさん：私たちー障害者は公平な場所をいります。安全なところをいりま
　　　　　　す。普通の人のように私たちを見る。私たちは普通の人です。

私：はい。ありがどうございます。あなたの強い精神は私たちはを勧めます。

ファンーさん：いいえ、がんばりましょう。


Interview with Lifang in English:

Lifang, a girl that impressed me so much the first time I saw her in university.
She was on her wheelchair, with her mother beside her. Her mother was very care with her little action.

Lifang comes from Kedah, Malaysia. She had met an accident on her sixteen years old. She had spinal code injury after the accident. From her neck onwards to her leg, she could not feel and do anything anymore. Currently she is studying social science in USM.

I :Hello, Lifang, nice to meet you.
Lf :Nice to meet you.
I :How is your life?
Lf :Yeah, fine here.
I :Do you face any difficulties in your daily life? Like in studies?
Lf :Fine. My friends do help me when I don’t understand something.

I :Mind I ask you how is your injury after accident?

Lf :After accident I had spinal code injury. From my neck onwards to leg, I
could not feel and do anything for the whole life.

I :If I were you, I will feel extremely hard to accept the fact. I am sure
you do have hard time. How do you face it?

Lf: I stayed at home for three years and I did nothing. Mother took care of
me and she accompanied me all the time. She feed me, took me to bath
and took things for me. Besides, many religious friends came to visit me
and talked to me a lot. At first I found it kinda hard to accept the
fact.My friends accompanied me and I did gain comfort from them.

I : Alright, so your mother always accompany you. Did you both argue
sometimes?

Lf: Sometimes we will have disagreement. Yet my mother did not argue with
me. She was soft to me.

I : How was your life after that?

Lf: I went to handicapped centre for two years. I began to learn computer
skills there. There were volunteers taught me English. After that, I
decided to take SPM. I hope I could continue further study through exam.
Then I trained myself to hold pencil to write. Finally I managed to use
left hand to write. I still could not write properly. Then I was allowed
to use computer to sit for SPM. I did my best and later I successfully
entered to KTAR(a college).

I : I think your family and friends were pretty proud of you. You were
getting near to your dreams. Was life in college a new starting point
to you?

Lf: Yea, my family were very happy. So did I. I studied in college for two
years. I chose computer science as major but the lecturer advised me not
to take it as I might not follow up. I might not speed using computer.
After discussing, I chose Information System Engineering. My goal was to
enter university. USM was my choice.

I : So, congratulations! You are here after years of efforts.

Lf: Thank you. I thanked my parents and all people that helped me a lot.

I :How do you think of USM- your dream university?

Lf: USM is great! I choose this university is because here is nearer to my
hometown. People here are very friendly. I remembered, the officers of
university drove to my room and fetched me to class by van every day.
I could not move at all. So, every time they need to carry me to van
and carry me out of van, including my wheelchair. It’s really a tiring
job. Some times, they carry me more than 10 times a day just to take me
to class and send me back home. I am very proud of my university that
cares for handicapped person like me.

I : So, who is the one that always encourage you?

Lf: I got motivation from religion Soka Gakka which emphasize culture, peace,
wisdom and bravery. This is a Japanese buddizm teaching. Whenever I face
difficulties, I will say “nam nyo ho ren kyou”. I will feel better and
energetic after I say it. It is really something that gives me strength
to face it.

I : Great! Do you have dreams that you hope to achieve?

Lf: Yes. I want to stand up one day. I want to go abroad because I heard that
there is high-tech equipment may help me stand up one day. Next I want to
share about soka gakka to my friends around. I hope they will be happy
like me.

I : Wow! It’s good. Do you think you are a positive person?

Lf: Well, I just won’t waste time to think negative things.

I : You’re really cool! You really positive!

Lf: One of my senior told me, “don’t think so much, just pay attention to
what you are doing right now.”It’s really encouraging.

I : Will you complain the fate that falls on you?

Lf: I did before. But after some time, I am gratitude to what I have now.
I have get to know soka gakkai. I found my meaning of life. I want to
share soka gakkai to friends around. I become strong after I believe
in soka gakkai. I am very thankful to my family and friends around that
helped me a lot.

I : Lastly, do you have anything to say?

Lf: We handicapped people need a fair environment. We need a place that is
free from obstacles. Treat us like normal people. We are just ordinary
people same like you all.

I : Indeed what you say is right. Thank you for let me interview you. I am
sure your spirit really spark us up. All the best.
